There seems to be an opportunity everywhere to live a healthy life in Spain. I must confess I was not the fittest person around when I left the UK for Spain, but the place has certainly inspired me to live a better life.
I suppose a lot of it boils down to the fact that the sun is drawing you out of your house everyday. Once you are outside you will see so many people running, cycling, skating and playing all manor of sport. I dare say, the vein side of my personal make up also tells me to do something about the pot belly I brought with me to Spain.
A change in diet is the first step and there are some good articles about eating healthy and health supplements over on www.spainhealthfood.com
I have had a plan that I would really like your help with.
I recently signed up to Twitter twitter.com/paulpaynespain, initially to discuss/twitter about property in Spain as that’s my industry and area of expertise. However, I began to think about what good things a large following on twitter could achieve for charity. I’ve never ran a marathon or done a parachute jump, but I’ve always wanted to something for some deserving charity. Anyway this is my plan and I hope you can help me!
The Big Plan
Find 100,000 followers who agree this is a good thing to do.
Once we reach 100,000, each follower would donate £1 to the top voted charity. Simple as that really
Which charity?
Let the group decide. Any registered charity can post their details on my blog www.paulpaynespain.com Each charity would need to be approved and checked out for authenticity before being published on the site. Followers would be able to read, comment and decide which charity they would like to vote for.
The Vote
Once we reach 100,000 followers, we can open the voting. This would involve each follower donating their £1 into a CharityTrust account, entering their twitter name and the reference number for chosen charity.
Once the voting is finished, we’ll announce who received the most votes and make our huge group donation!
What now?
Just follow me on twitter and I’ll keep you updated www.twitter.com/paulpaynespain It’s really easy to join if you aren’t already using it. Details of how to vote and donate will published once we are approaching our target of 100,000 followers.
So for now just spread the word…….tell as many of your friends as possible about this.
I don’t know how many followers we’ll get or how long it will take, but I do know we’ve got a really great chance of being part of something pretty amazing.
Are you a registered charity?
If you are a registered charity and would like to submit your details. Please contact us and once we’ve verified you, we’ll put your details up on the blog and via twitter so the followers can read all about you.
I think I can put my neck on the line and say the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom on La Finca Golf Course is the best value golf property on the market today.
The price has been reduced from €168,000 to €114,900. You won’t find a repossession or even builders cancellation anything like as good value when you take in consideration the location and property in question.
La Finca is just outside the town of Algorfa on the southern Costa Blanca. The golf course has earned itself a reputation as one the best courses to play in Spain, although many of the people who have a home there, don’t play at all. They chose the location for the natural outlook that comes with property. You can’t fail to be moved by the mountain backdrop and multitude of greenery that is priceless in an area that can boast one of the best year round climates in Europe.
The property itself is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom top floor bungalow. The property has been built in a rustic style with excellent use of natural materials. The vaulted ceiling the living room and kitchen, give a real sense of space. From the living room, the patio doors lead out on to a sunny balcony that overlooks the swimming pool and gardens and offers amazing views to the mountains and golf course too. Take the steps from the balcony up to the large roftop solarium and you have the prefect spot for sunbathing or al fresco dining
All appliances, furniture, air conditioning and even satellite TV are included in the sale. Contact me on 0208 603 0180 or by email paul@masaint.co.uk for further details and viewings.
So you have decided you’d like to live in Spain, but you’re not coming to retire and you need income? One of most common things that holds back a move to Spain is employment, or fear of not getting a job in Spain. The thought of selling up in the UK or buying a property in Spain before a job is secured s naturally quite a scary one to say the least.
The hard truth
Unless you are very lucky, have great connections in Spain or both, it is going to be difficult to get anyone to take you seriously until you are firmly in living here in Spain. For every one person who actually makes the move the Spain, there are thousands who are thinking about, dreaming of, or currently looking to move here. Many of the people in this group are also waiting to find a job before they move. Potential employers are generally only ever going to offer jobs to those who are already in place. And there are plenty of people in place and ready to work in Spain.
Turn the current economic situation to your advantage
You don’t need me to tell you that finding a suitable job anywhere at the moment could take time. Have you ever though about buying that time with your move to Spain. Think about how much you income you would need over say,the next 6 months. If you could secure that income when you buy your home in Spain, you could be here a lot sooner than you thought.
This is how it could be done. There are a number of completed properties in some great locations in Spain, and in particular around Alicante that have huge reductions on them. The reductions are offered because a completed, unsold property costs the developer a lot of money to stay empty. The builder may have a mortgage too, making it even more important that property is sold as quickly as possible. This is where you can turn the market in your favour, both in the property you buy and in the income you will need to live on. It is possible (although it has t be said not on every property) to negotiate a big discount off the price or a cash-back on completion. There is probably a fairly small window of opportunity for this though. As the stock of key ready new reduces, so do the big discounts.
Once you have your property, and you’ve saved enough on the purchase price to keep you going for your initial months in Spain, you can take your time t find the right job. Maybe you can use the time you have bought to start the business you have always wanted to. What ever you do, you will be in one the most inspiring places you could imagine and don’t forget you already have at least one friend in Spain!
